Keren Kuenberg


My practice is situated at the intersection of the built environment, archives, exhibitions, and politics, in various interactive formats. Working to expand how architecture knowledge is understood, documented, presented and how it can communicate with a wider public.

Recently scanning stones as part of a design collaboration with designer Shir Senior; the work
is an ongoing research project that intimately observes and responds to the stones and their trajectory in regional Jerusalem, the exhibition
that hosted a dozen of low-tech cleaning metallic robotics – gently “taking care” of the stone floor.

Working on
that investigate multi-narrative histories through the use of 3D scan technology, and interactive interfaces. Currently pursuing a PhD in International Studies at ISCTE Lisbon, part of the research project “AfDevLives” funded by the European Research Council. Until recently, an associate lecturer in Media Studies, School of Architecture at the Royal College of Art. During the past years I’ve been giving workshops at the Bartlett School of Architecture UCL, Université de Montréal, Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, and more. Previously worked as a curatorial fellow at the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montréal, Canada. Research and production of the film
for the “Bauhaus Imaginista” exhibition in the HKW, Berlin. Co-curated the exhibition
for Jerusalem Design Week, as well as worked as an assistant curator for design and architecture. Created alternative digital archives for Negev Coexistence Forum for Civil Equality (NCF), Bezalel Architecture Archive, as well worked as a research assistant at Ben Gurion University of the Negev and created the
ISPADA digital archive
.

One of my research interests are the architecture relations between the land of Israel and Ethiopia, which started in my BA final project
“Between Addis Ababa and Jerusalem”
in Bezalel Academy for Arts and Design, Jerusalem. The on-going research was accompanied with public tours for academic and wide audiences, also as part of “” Jerusalem and Tel Aviv events that I curated and co-produced, in which also led to site-specific projects curatorial works, such as the
